That means Opposition Leader Keith Rowley won't force the reopening of the legislature ahead of time.
He has written the Prime Minister requesting an immediate sitting of Parliament to discuss what he said is a matter of serious national concern regarding the demolition of a protest camp in Debe and the presence of National Security Minister Jack Warner at the site when soldiers knocked down the camp.
Roodal Moonilal explained that President George Maxwell Richards has issued the summons for the start of the third session of the 10th Parliament on July 11 and Rowley knows that.
"The Leader of the Opposition is aware of this, what he's asking for is to recall the Parliament sometime between Wednesday to Tuesday next week. Dr Rowley...(is) well aware of the various instruments which he may use to have a debate on any matter which he may deem important. There is no purpose now in seeking to recall this summons which has already been issued by the President," Moonilal said.
