A judge in Port of Spain on Tuesday fined the private Trinidad & Tobago television service CNC3 $50,000 for showing video that was deemed to have the potential to prejudice a trial.
However Justice Prakash Moosai did not throw the book at the two journalists who had responsibility for the breach of the rules - Rosemaie Sant, the station's Head of News and reporter Khamal Georges.

He let them off with a stern warning after they took responsibility for their actions.
Justice Moosai said systems were in place to filter out prejudicial material, and noted that the journalists did not follow the instructions.
The station, which is a division of the Guardian Media, has seven days to pay the fine.
