Brian MacFarlane's band TRIBE was disqualified from crossing the Queen's Park Savannah stage on Tuesday because the band did not follow the designated route. Later in the day it declined an offer to parade across the stage.
Media reports stated that the 5,000 strong band went up Frederick Street to get to the Savannah stage, passing too close to the jail. The route was supposed to be along Abercromby Street, which runs parallel to Frederick Street.
Police on horseback and on foot patrol intervened and directed the to the Savannah.
The band was forced to go around the savannah and missed its opportunity to cross the stage to be judged

Arts and Multiculturalism Minister Winston "Gypsy" Peters was highly critical of TRIBE. He said if he had his way he would have band them from parading.
"There are always people who would not want to follow, and we have to deal with those people who do not follow. When you break the rules, there's a penalty. As a matter of fact, they should kick them off the road because I am a drastic person," said Peters.
MacFarlane was also upset about the band breaking the rules. He was happy that the rules were enforced. "They right, they damn right," MacFarlane told national TV station TV6.
