Commissioner Gibbs leads officers in a walkabout |
Gibbs told local media he was impressed by the manner in which revellers and spectators conducted themselves during the two days of carnival.
Gibbs and his senior officers visited San Fernando and Tobago. In both locations he said people were happy with the police presence.
He said the anti-crime initiatives activated since Carnival Friday worked very well.
He singled out officers of the Port-of-Spain CID and Port-of-Spain Division for keeping Monday's J’Ouvert incident free.
He said the vigilance of officers led to the detention of 145 persons with weapons on Carnival Monday.
