Excessive Force! While criminals raping, robbing, killing your loved ones - Commissioner Gibbs advises against excessive force.
Sir, please stop attacking my wife and children or we will use proportionate, but not excessive force, on you, per the advice of the million$ foreign Commissioner of Police.
We know, Mr Commissioner, that if your wife was being raped or your children were being plannased and chopped with a cutlass, you would also warn the perpetrators about the proportionate force you would use to deter or stop them.
In that stressful, emotional, scary situation you would consider if to hit the criminal with a pillow, or a cuff, or a gentle kick, but not pull your gun - NOOOoooo! God forbid, you may kill the rapist! You may also cause terrible injury to the rapist!
Now, you may also consider not calling for help, since the neighbors and friends would rush over and apply excessive force on the rapist and murderer, not mention if he is a kidnapper taking off with your daughter or wife, and you must have heard of the nice pleasant treatment accorded to female and male kidnap victims by the nice kidnappers, on whom you warn against excessive force.
