Chaguanas gets new Vendors' Mall Friday

Chaguanas opens a new Vendors' Mall Friday which will remove all vending from the busy main street and allow a free flow of traffic. The mall will operate as part of the busy market that has been a fixture of the town for decades.

Members of the Chaguanas Vendors Association and non registered vendors were given authorised booths earlier this week. The booth numbers were picked at a specially organised event at the CEPEP Building in Chaguanas.

Central and local government officials witnessed the draw.

Chaguanas West MP Jack Warner Minister met the vendors earlier this week and warned them not to abuse their privilege. The vendors will get the facilities rent-free for the first two months. The MP said vendors who try to rent and sell plots would lose them immediately

The mall is located at the Old Chaguanas Health Facility.
