Rowley should stop pointing fingers

The United National Congress on Saturday accused Keith Rowley of nominating a member of his slate who has a questionable university record.

In a media release, the party claimed that a member of Rowley's team announced Friday was disqualified from a tertiary level institution for plagiarism. But the party did not name the person.

The release stated that while Rowley is boasting of having the better team of men and women of outstanding character he has "failed to do proper background checks and is therefore offering his party a flawed slate for the People’s National Movement’s internal election on May 18."

The party said it does not wish to interfere in the affairs of the PNM but added that Rowley has shown that he is "incapable of doing proper background checks on his own slate of candidates".

It added, "This is an issue that needs to be in the public domain so that members of the party, who have to vote in the internal election, could demand to know who is this person and if others also have questionable backgrounds."
