The United States Department of Justice on Thursday sent a diplomatic note to T&T’s Foreign Affairs Ministry for provisional warrants to be issued for three suspects described as "businessmen", the Trinidad Guardian reported Friday.
According to the Guardian documents relating to the shipment shows the exporter as Caribbean Sea Works Ltd, which is a defunct company. The Guadian said it obtained official documents dated December 13, 2012 that show the company’s only “authorised officer” is Doolin Ragoonath Mahabir and name Malcolm Browne, of 128, Milford Road, Scarborough, and Brigitta O’Sullivan, of 107, Windy Ridge, Goodwood Park, Glencoe, as the directors.
The paper said this is in connection with the investigation into the seizure in Virginia of high-grade cocaine concealed in fruit juice cans originating from T&T. The drugs, which were seized by US Customs and Border Protection officers at the port of Norfolk, Virginia on December 20, have an estimated street value of TT$644 million,.
The cocaine was packed in 700 cans of fruit juices bearing the labels of the Citrus Growers Association (CGA), a subsidiary of SM Jaleel.
Another local paper - the Trinidad Express - reported Friday that its investigations have revealed that 1296 cases of canned juices were stolen from the CGA compound on December 2, 2013.

The Guardian said the official document had the signature of Ragoonath-Mahabir. and listed Brigitta o"Sullivan as “proprietress”. The Guardian said it was unable to contact Ragoonath-Mahabir, stating that her phone number and address have been blocked from public access.
The Guardian said documents also name Victor Jattan of 53 Lyndon Street, Curepe. as the company secretary. However the paper said when it visited the address no one answered. The paper quoted neighbours as saying that Jattan appeared to be a loner who did not interact with anyone.
