Manning in hospital again after collapsing at office

File: Patrick Manning
Former Prime Minister Patrick Manning is in the Intensive Care Unit (ICU) of the San Fernando General hospital.

Local media reports say Manning collapsed at his San Fernando East Constituency Office around four Thursday afternoon and was taken to hospital.

A CT Scan did not find any fresh bleeding in the brain, media reports said. He has been sedated and is  being monitored by neurologist Dr Kanta Ramcharan and Dr Ricardo Narinesingh, Head of Emergency Services at the hospital.

Manning initially suffered a stroke in January last year and was treated at the San Fernando hospital for a while and later at a U.S. hospital. He has been on medical leave from parliament since his first attack.

Manning made a rare public appearance at the Calypso Fiesta at Skinner Park and watched the Parade of Bands on Carnival Tuesday from his Constituency Office.
