Reroute movement's case against the state postponed for one week

High court Justice James Aboud on Thursday postponed until next Thursday a decision in a lawsuit brought against the state by the Highway Re-route Movement.

There was a two hour delay in the start of the matter before Justice Aboud because lawyers for both sides were meeting in private to discuss the way forward in the Movement' case against Attorney General Anand Ramlogan.

Senior Counsel Russel Martineau is representing the state. He told Justice Aboud that the State intends to make an application to the court.

Senior Counsel Ramesh Lawrence Maharaj is representing the Highway Re-Route Movement. He told reporters, "An order was made that the State's intended application would be made and filed on Monday but it would be sent by email to the judge and to the parties in the case on Saturday by 3pm."
