CAL Acting CEO Robert Corbie said he expects the service to begin this summer.
"We are extremely happy to announce that the slots have been retained at Gatwick Airport London, which is the UK's second largest airport and the busiest single-runway airport in the world," Corbie said.
"Our flights to London will provide a vital economic link which we hope to start mid June pending all regulatory approvals have been received."
He added that the airline is "well positioned strategically to become the preferred airline for all customers flying between the Caribbean and London."

Gatwick serves more than 200 destinations in 90 countries, handling about 33 million passengers a year. The airport is 28 miles south of London with excellent public transport links, including the award winning Gatwick Express.
Caribbean Airlines plans to use two Boeing 767-300ER aircraft for the London service. Each will be equipped with state of the art cabins, including in-seat power and video and flatbed Business Class seats. The planes have a seating capacity of between 181 and 375, depending on the arrangements of the seats. CAL expects to take delivery of the planes by the end of April and May 2012.
