Dvaili Nagar Inc. of Florida held a three-day Divali celebration Coral Springs that attracted about 15,000 visitors. The event featured over 50 booths in a recreated Indian village.
The entertainment included four Indian orchestras, seven dance troupes, several local and foreign artistes. There were also yoga demonstrations.
Consul General Dr. Anil Ramnanan lit the first deeyah and his spouse, Khadine was a judge in the Queen contest. Ramnanan gave a speech about Hinduism and Indian Culture in Miami.
Lt. Governor Jennifer Carrol, who is Trinidadian, sent a video message wishing all a "happy Divali".
