Venezuelan President Hugo Chavez has invited Prime Minister Kamla Persad-Bissessar to visit Venezuela.He extended the invitation through his oil minister, Rafael Ramirez, at the signing of an energy agreement between Trinidad and Tobago and Venezuela in Caracas on Monday.
Energy Minister Carolyn Seepersad-Bachan, who signed the deal on behalf of the government of Trinidad and Tobago, said she has not yet advised Persad-Bissessar about the invitation.
She told the Trinidad media Tuesday Chavez conveyed his appreciation to Trinidad and Tobago and invited the Prime Minister to visit. She said she expects official letter from the Government of Venezuela.
Under the sharing agreement Venezuela will have access to 7.3 trillion cubic feet (TCF) of natural gas and T&T will have 2.7 TCF.
