The People's National Movement (PNM) has created its own version of the "DO SO" campaign of the opposition.
The opposition "DO SO" was created by octogenarian Percy Villafana. He is the man who blocked Prime Minister Patrick Manning from entering his property in San Juan. Manning was on a walkabout and assumed that he would be welcome in Villafana's home.
But the 81-year-old made his hands in the sign of a cross and told Manning he wanted nothing to do with him and the PNM. He explained later that the sign was meant to ward off evil.
The opposition jumped on the issue and created posters, showing the hands to ward off evil and has been calling on supporters to show it to the PNM. "DO SO" has become a UNC battle cry.
In response, the PNM has used two hands. The opposition has scoffed at the PNM's version, saying it represents Patrick Manning shaking hands with Calder Hart.
