Sadiq Baksh is new CEO of T&T Human Rights Association

Former works minister Sadiq Baksh is the new Chief Executive Officer of The Trinidad and Tobago Civil Rights Association.

The association said Baksh's appointment is effective January 04, 2010.

In a news release making the appointment, the association said the move is aimed at expanding the base of the local arm of the organisation to make it more vigilant in dealing with violations on human rights issues in Trinidad and Tobago.

The association has been in existence since 2002.

The release quoted Baksh as saying that he intends "to expand its regional presence while building and maintaining the association’s international linkages."

He said, "I am looking forward to joining the dedicated and already successful team, which has brought the association to its present status and of course continuing its fine work.”
