A report in the Trinidad Guardian says a police officer questioned about the kissing US$94,000 from the Couva Police Station has been linked to the recent purchase of a fleet of cars.
The report says the officer has also been linked to a security service for illegal gambling, citing police sources.
The paper said the officer is also linked to a female constable.who may be linked to the disappearance of the money.
The report said the officer is been closely linked to three illegal gambling establishments, two in Couva and one in Longdenville.
It says police are investigating claims that man hires off-duty cops to provide protection for illegal gamblers.
