Justice Sebastian Ventour resigned on Wednesday as a member of the Integrity Commission. He was the commission's deputy chairman.
As a member of the commission he was unable to deliver judgements in three court cases. On Wednesday, following his decision to quit, he was sworn in as a temporary puisne judge of the High Court in order to hand down the three judgments.
Ventour became a member of the commission on July 1 last year. In his letter of resignation the retired judge cited the three judgments as the reason for leaving the commission. His departure would affect the work of the commission since he was the only member with a legal background.
