PNM supporters greet Manning at Piarco on July 31 |
Manning's son, David, told local media doctors have moved his father from the High Dependency Unit of the San Fernando General Hospital and that his father is in "high spirits". He said Manning may be discharged soon.
The chairman of the RHA responsible for the hospital, Dr. Lakhram Bodoe, told the media a team of doctors would examine Manning before any decision is made about further treatment. All tests so far show normal results.
Manning suffered seizure on thursday evening and was taken to the hospital. He first suffered a stroke in January and was initially treated at the same hospital. He was later sent to the United States for further treatment and therapy. He returned home on July 31.
He continues to be the MP for San fernando East but has been on extended leave since the stroke in January. Earlier this month the Speaker of the House of Representatives, Wade Mark, extended Manning's medical leave until October.
