A message from JACK WARNER:
Semoy’s record-breaking time of 22.55 seconds has earned her a spot in tomorrow’s (Wednesday's) finals.
"On behalf of Prime Minister Kamla Persad-Bissessar, the government and people of the Republic of Trinidad and Tobago, I wish to send love and best wishes to Semoy as she prepares to take the starters’ line tomorrow (Wednesday). We have confidence that Semoy will make us proud. Already she has earned her spot among the 10 fastest women on the planet in the 200 meter event.
"I also wish to commend all our athletes who took represented the Red, White and Black at the 2012 Olympic Games up to this point.
"By merely reaching the international level of competition they have done well. To reach such level is no small task and what is better is that they continue to perform, to place well and to show potential for even greater feats.
"You have made the world stop and take notice of Trinidad and Tobago! Thank you and keep it up!"
