Bronze for T&T as Caribbean dominates 400M at London Olympics

The Caribbean took control of the Men's 400m final at the London Olympics Monday with the three medals going to athletes from the region.

Grenada's Kirani James, 19, was first, taking the Gold medal with a time of 43.94 seconds. A teenager from the Dominican Republic, Lugeilin Santos, 19, won the Silver medal and the Bronze went to Lalonde Gordon of Trinidad and Tobago who took bronze. Gordon finished with a personal best of 44.52.

Lalonde told media, "I finished strong and I am happy for a place. It was a good race." He said his Grenadian colleague put on an "impressive performance." He added, "He is a wonderful athlete and I respect him."
