In November 2011, National Energy Corporation of Trinidad and Tobago Limited (NEC) in collaboration with PETROTRIN and National Gas Company of Trinidad and Tobago (NGC) hosted its first annual "Energy Sector Brunch."
The Brunch which was held at the Sevilla Sports Club, Couva attracted over 400 persons from Trinidad and Tobago's energy and business sectors. The Brunch raised TT$150,000 which was donated to the Prime Minister's Children's Life Fund.
The Life Fund is an initiative of the Prime Minister Kamla Persad-Bissessar and was established to assist in meeting the cost of life-saving medical treatment for the nation's children.
The Energy Sector Brunch was one of several joint activities undertaken in 2011 as part of an initiative by the state-owned energy sector companies to promote greater collaboration in the delivery of Corporate Social Responsibility programmes. These activities focused primarily on youth, sport, culture and small business.
