A team of Fraud Fraud Squad and the Anti-Corruption Investigations Bureau (ACIB) are leaving for Malaysia this week to examine records and interview persons of interest in the continuing investigation of the Calder Hart perjury probe.
On their return from Malaysia they will go to Miami to interview Hart and his wife, Sherrine, about allegations that Hart had family ties to the directors of CH Development, which was awarded a UDeCOTT contract to build the Ministry of Legal Affairs tower.
A Newsday report Monday said the visit to Malaysia was arranged after Attorney General Anand Ramlogan secured the co-operation of the Malaysian government.
It said the Central Authority in Malaysia has agreed to facilitate interviews with the relevant persons identified in that country.
The allegation about Hart's family ties were made at the Uff inquiry by Sherrine Hart's former husband, Carl Khan, who said certain officials of CH Development were in fact related to his former wife.

- 411 North New River Drive, Fort Lauderdale, Florida USA.
Hart is also facing a civil suit. Ramlogan announced the details last week.
"Mr. Hart is being sued firstly for the construction failure, the mismanagement of that project, and secondly for his breach in fiduciary duty to the Board and the Company that is UDeCOTT, and thirdly he is being sued in connection with concealing his alleged family connections with CH Development Construction Limited who had successfully bid for the Ministry of Legal Affairs Tower."
Ramlogan said the Government is seeking compensation of over $100 million for the three projects.
"The damages we are seeking, in the first instance, with respect to the failure to ensure that the advanced failures bonds were not renewed upon their expiry and allowed to lapse, is in the vicinity of $65,680,978.88," he said.
He added, "The damages at large for negligence and breach of fiduciary duty would be the cost to complete that Brian Lara Stadium."
The Hart case is among several civil matters the Government is considering as it is currently looking into improper practices undertaken by the boards of eteck, UTT and T&TEC.
