Funeral services for the stepfather of Minister of Arts and Multiculturalism, Minister Winston "Gypsy" Peters will be held Sunday at the Rio Claro Roman Catholic Church at 2 p.m.
Vernon Clement died suddenly on April 10. He was 78.
Peters said in a media release Friday he would not have been alive today were it not for the heroism of Clement who saved him from drowning many years ago. He described him as a a "trusted friend.
Peters added that Clement, also known as "Vernie", was the father figure who helped shape his life and career during his early formative years. "I will miss him deeply," the minister added.
