The government of Trinidad & Tobago has appointed Grenfell Kissoon chairman of the state broadcaster, Caribbean New Media Group (CNMG).
KIssoon is a former managing director of the Trinidad Broadcasting Company (TBC) and helped shape the Guardian Media.
He began his media career in the 1980s as general manager of what was then the state-owned Trinidad & Tobago Television, (TTT).
Line Minister for CNMG, Communications Minister Dr Suruj Rambachan, made the announcement at Thursday's post cabinet news briefing.
Kissoon replaces Brian Stone, who resigned as Chairman of CNMG in February to focus on work related to the United National Congress (UNC).
Last year Kissoon retired from executive and board positions at ANSA McAL Ltd after a 17-year executive career and started his own consulting business. He joined the group in 1994.
