The visit signals the desire of both governments to boost their bilateral agenda, commemorate 50 years of diplomatic ties between the two countries and also to celebrate Trinidad and Tobago's 50th anniversary of independence.
Activities for the Canadian delegation include courtesy calls on President George Maxwell Richards and Prime Minister Kamla Persad-Bissessar, and a State Banquet. The delegation will also hold a meeting with the Prime Minister.
The two governments will also sign the Health Technical Framework Agreement and the Corrections Memorandum of Understanding. The Canadians would also lay wreaths in honour of Canadian servicemen killed in action during World War II.
On Wednesday some members of the delegation will attend a luncheon with the Canadian business community and selected local ministers, the ministers of Energy, Trade, Tertiary Education and Foreign Affairs.
