Jack Warner has been appointed to the National Security Council (NSC), which is chaired by Prime Minister Kamla Persad-Bissessar.
Warner attended his first NSC meeting last week. Media reports say Warner got his letter of appointment five days after he was re-elected chairman of the United National Congress (UNC).
Members of the NSC include Police Commissioner Dwayne Gibbs, the Minister of National Security, the Attorney General, chief of Defence Staff and members of the protective services. The council deals with national security issues affecting the country.
