Rowley call for Sandy's resignation over SoE

Keith Rowley said Monday National Security Minister Brigadier John Sandy must resign because of his failure to provide full details of the major threat which triggered the declaration of the State of Emergency (SoE) back on August 21st.

The Opposition Leader made the call at a news conference. He said the government took the advice of Sandy and moved "recklessly" to declare a State of Emergency.

Rowley said seven weeks later the population remains unclear on why the measure was imposed in the first place.

He said none of three three key players - Sandy, Attorney General Anand Ramlogan, and Commissioner of Police, Dwayne Gibbs - has given a definitive statement on the circumstances leading up to the declaration.

He said that's why Sandy should do the honourable thing and resign.
