File: "ROBOCOP" goes to court
A Chaguanas magistrate held a brief hearing Tuesday in the murder case of Selwyn "Robocop" Alexis and ordered that Laexis be kept in custody until the next court date on November 2.

The Attorney for the state, George Busby, told the magistrate he want to prosecute by way of "paper committal", which allows recorded statements from prosecution witnesses without having the witnesses appear in person.

Police arrested Alexis at his posh apartment in in Port of Spain last month. They later charged him with the murder of Vincent Emmanuel Simmons, which is alleged to have taken place on October 7, 2008 at Nimblett Street, Enterprise.
