The authorities in Trinidad and Tobago have issued instructions for the limited state of emergency imposed Sunday night in what Prime Minister Kamla Persad-Bissessar has described as "crime hot spots"

- Retired Military personnel from the rank Corporal upwards with good standing who worked in units like I.A.T.F along with VDF personnel are being reactivated/ reengaged
- Soldiers and police don't have to use a search warrant to enter private property or search vehicles; it's called the "probable cause" search.
- Soldiers now have the powers to arrest and detain citizens but they won't be able to lay charges; they will hand over suspects to the police to be charged
- No bail for those arrested during the State of Emergency; courts no longer will have the power to grant bail
- Citizens must comply with all requests by police to stop for search and seizure protocols
- All Military personnel share the same powers as the police
- The emergency will be in force for 15 days
- Military/Police can use any amount of force deemed necessary
- Curfew Time: 9PM - 5AM
Protective Services personnel are out in full force in the designated areas. Media reports say at least two bandits were shot and killed early Monday in the Arima area. And other reports say some of the "hot spots" are deserted.
