Dr Roodal Moonilal said Saturday there is no need for citizens to feel insecure because of the sudden escalation in murders. And he dismissed talk of a state of emergency.
The leader of Government Business in Parliament said, "I think citizens should still feel secure. I think there is an upsurge in the gang related activity that is creating an unease, but I am very confident in Mr John Sandy and the Police Service will to respond to this challenge."
He said Sandy has plans and strategies which will work. "I am aware of Mr Sandy's plans and he has a variety of strategies to combat crime. I am very confident that in the short term we will see the results of that."
