The Port of Spain City Corporation celebrated its 97th year Friday with a parade through the streets. It was a departure from the traditional parade with just the armed forces as Mayor Louis Lee Sing brought in floats to highlight the life of the city.
"The city is about life and living, and City Day parade ought to exemplify and promote what the city is all about," the mayor told the media.

"Next year we could hope to ask the military to just provide us with music, and we carry the floats from the people who use the city—the corporate community, the business community, the schools," he added.
