UNC women condemn opposition attacks on PM Kamla

The executive of the Women's Arm of the United National Congress (UNC) issued a media release Friday condemning what it called "the meaningless and unnecessary recent attacks on the Honourable Prime Minister by Members of the Opposition."

The chair of the executive, Khadijah Ameen, said such attacks are an attempt to distract the nation at a time when the Peoples’ Partnership "is gaining much headway in bringing back on track our beloved nation to acceptable levels of good governance after such wanton waste by the previous regime."

Ameen added that the UNC woman are "certain and confident" that Kamla Persad-Bissessar would be vindicated in any investigation by the Integrity Commission.

And she suggested that when that happens "we also hope that the same condemnatory voices will echo sentiments of apology just as audibly."
