A group comprising members of general council of the Public Services Association (PSA) has launched a petition to get their president, Watson Duke, to resign.
Wouldron Louison read a statement to reporters in which the group slammed Duke for What they say is his lack of negotiating and leadership skills.
"The PSA has been through crises after crises due to the lack of appreciation and understanding of the principles of participatory democracy and strategic leadership and most importantly truthfulness," said Louison.
Louison said whenever the government requested clarification from Duke, he never gave it, instead "he simply changed from one position to another".
Duke has dismissed the group calling them non-entities. "They are not known in the PSA for struggling, they exhibit destructive behaviour," he said.
The group is hoping to get 5,000 signatures in order to oust Duke. Its members say Duke is not fit to lead the PSA.
