Letter: Imbert should know better

Why does the media report nonsense without pointing out that it is nonsense?

Colm Imbert actually stood in parliament and claimed that he wanted Kamla Persad-Bissessar brought before the Privileges Committee of Parliament and made to testify in order to "disprove Manning's allegations" that her home had cost $150 million and was funded by drug money.

We all know, as does Imbert, that the Prime Minister, or the lowliest citizen of this land, is not required to "disprove" any statement made against them.

Patrick Manning announced, six months ago, that he would bring proof regarding his spurious and desperate charges, and he has failed to do so.

Patrick Manninghas behaved like a petulant child throughout the ordeal he has inflicted upon himself, as he seeks martyrdom in the wake of his pathetic abdication from office a year ago.

The embarrassment he has brought upon his Party is palpable and etched on the faces of those left in the House, even as they try to squirm and beg for mercy.

I am confident mercy will come following Manning's apology, which every PNM member knows is overdue.
