The Trinidad Express has published a photograph of Calder Hart and his wife, which it says was taken on Mothers' day in Florida.
The photo, which is reproduced above is published in Thursday's edition of the paper.
The Express said the exclusive photo was taken at the Hong Kong City BBQ restaurant at N State Road, Ft Lauderdale. "The restaurant is located minutes away from the Hart's condo, according to Internet checks," the paper reported.
Hart quit as chairman of UDeCOTT, the National Insurance Board, National Insurance Property Development Company (NIPDEC), the Home Mortgage Bank and the Trinidad and Tobago Mortgage Finance Company last year, and left Trinidad and Tobago.
The Harts left one day after a meeting with former prime minister Patrick Manning.
The Express said the Harts live in a five-bedroom condominium in one of the most exclusive properties in the Broward County area—the 38-storey Las Olas Grand Condominium complex at 441 North New River Drive East, Ft Lauderdale.
The paper said he bought the condo in June 2009 from Richard Gore and the Richard Gore Trust, citing the real estate website Block Shopper. The condo was said to have cost around $5 million, the paper said.
Hart is under investigation in connection with contracts awarded to a firm that had close connections to his wife, Sherrine. He has always denied that. The Anti-Corruption Bureau and the Director of Public Prosecutions are conducting the investigations.
