Kamla Persad-Bissessar takes office Wednesday as the first female Prime Minister of Trinidad and Tobago.
The swearing-in takes place at the Knowsley Building, Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Port-of-Spain, at four in the afternoon.
Persad-Bissessar led her People's Partnership coalition to a landslide victory over the People's National Movement on Monday, winning 29 of the 41 seats.
Under the constitution of Trinidad and Tobago the leader of the party with a majority in Parliament is appointed Prime Minister. The Attorney General must take office at the same time to constitute a cabinet.
Other members of the cabinet can be sworn in at another time.
