PM asks Glenn to submit report on airline incident

Prime Minister Kamla Persad-Bissessar has asked Minister of the People and Social Development Glenn Ramadharsingh to to submit to her with details of what happened between him and a flight attendant on board a Caribbean Airlines flight from Tobago last weekend.

She told reporters at Palmiste Park Sunday it would inappropriate for her to make any comment on the matter until she hears from the minister.

Caribbean Airlines Ltd (CAL) flight attendant Ronelle Laidlow filed a report to police and Piarco security services against Ramadharsingh in which she alleged that the minister was abusive and threatened to get her fired. She also alleged that Ramadharsingh touched her left breast when he tried to reach for her security idea that was pinned on her blouse.

Laidlow also stated that the minister was uncooperative, appeared to be intoxicated and refused to carry out important safety instructions. The minister has denied he had any physical contact with Laidlaw and explained his behaviour by stating that he had been suffering from "severe fatigue".

Persad-Bissessar was out of the country when the alleged incident is reported to have taken place.
