Hadeed moves to Tourism; Vasant takes communication

Prime Minister Kamla Persad-Bissessar has made two cabinet changes following the resignation of Tourism Minister, Chandresh Sharma on Monday.

In a media release, she said she has asked President Anthony Carmona to appoint Senator Gerry Hadeed as Minister of Tourism. Hadeed was the communications minister.

Vasant Bharath

The communications portfolio has been reassigned to Senator Vasant Bharath and will be incorporatd with the trade ministry as the Ministry of Trade, Investments and Communications.

Last week, following the removal of Glenn Ramadharsingh from cabinet, the Prime Minister took over the responsibility of Minister of the People and Social Development until she decides on a suitable replacement.
