ILP moves to POS, set up 12-member shadow cabinet

The Independent Liberal Party (ILP) is moving its main offices from its current location at Mulchan Seuchan Road in Chaguanas to 113 Edward Street, Port of Spain. The move takes effect on January 2, 2014.

In a media release the party said it will also open regional offices in Tobago, Point Fortin, San Fernando and Sangre Grande and 15 constituency offices throughout the country.

Political Leader Jack Warner said this is in keeping with the strategic decision of the party to broaden its political base and to ensure an effective and efficient shadow cabinet.

The party said it will have a 12-member team to monitor the activities of the present 33-member People’s Partnership Cabinet, and to manage the various constituencies.

The 12 shadow ministries are:

1. Business, Innovation and Skills 
2. Communities and Local Government
3. Constitutional and Political Reform
4. Culture, Media and Sport
5. Education, Families, and Young People
6. Energy, Environment, Food and Rural Affairs 
7. Health and Social Care
8. National Security and Justice 
9. Finance
10. Works and Transport
11. Attorney General & Legal Affairs
12. Tobago and Tobago-related matters
