PM to meet with Kublalsingh Thursday

Prime Minister Kamla Persad-Bissessar will meet on Thursday with Dr Wayne Kublalsingh, of the Highway Re-Route Movement. A release from the Office of the PM said the meeting is scheduled for 2.45 pm at the Diplomatic Centre, St Ann's.

Kublalsingh wants to meet the PM to discuss the Debe to Mon Desir section of the highway to Point Fortin. He has mounted a protest outside the PM's office where he had previously staged a 3-week hunger strike.

Following that the government commissioned a special report comprising a team of experts led by Senator James Armstrong. He wants the government to abide by the team's report.

Kublalsingh told reporters he wants that section of the highway to stop. He also alleged there is evidence of corruption in the project.
