In a media release Friday, Prime Minister Kamla Persad-Bissessar extended her "heartfelt congratulations" to all the students who received their SEA results Thursday.

"As a former Minister of Education, Prime Minister noted with pride the increase in success in a wider cross section of schools in Trinidad and Tobago, with particular interest in the success of her home area of south Trinidad," the release stated.

It added, "Mrs. Persad-Bissessar stated that the improvement in the SEA results bears “testament to the success of pillar one of the government’s policy: people-centred development in which there is a strong focus on basic education to make a decisive difference in the future of our nation.”
