Jack Warner has said he would return his diplomatic passport and the one issued to his wife by July 24.
Foreign Affairs Minister Dr Roodal Moonilal confirmed that there was nothing unusual about the request for the return of the passport. He noted that the general convention is that such a passport is returned voluntarily when a minister no longer holds a cabinet portfolio.
It follows a request for him to return to the official dociument.
The former cabinet minister's passport was due to expire in 2016. However he was only entitled to use it as a minister of government, which is stated on the document.
