After seeing the treatment that Jack Warner received, I am of the firm belief that we are a truly ungrateful people.
Skip ahead to 2013, scores of allegations, I repeat, ALLEGATIONS are spewed from this very body, FIFA, and now we here in Trinidad and Tobago have chosen to crucify him for it.
It will be to the UNC’s detriment to not select him as their candidate of choice and I say this because I too am a UNC supporter. However, where Mr. Warner goes, I go too.
A few years ago when Trinidad and Tobago’s Soca Warriors played against Bahrain and won in their final qualifier match for the World cup in Germany, everyone was in a state of frenzy. You would have sworn it was carnival all over again. At that point, Jack Warner was 'the people’s champion’. He was perhaps the most loved man in T&T back then. This man was responsible for putting Trinidad and Tobago on the world map as we were the smallest island to ever play at the FIFA world cup.

I was stunned to hear in Parliament last Friday, opposition Leader Dr. Keith Rowley refer to FIFA as a “mafia”. How can a man who aspires to someday be the Prime Minister of this country make such an asinine statement?
Furthermore, if he believes that FIFA is a so called “mafia” then why should he believe anything that is in their report? Now, this same man who FIFA has chosen to persecute, chose to take the high ground and apologize on Dr. Rowley’s behalf for such an idiotic statement.
I am a constituent of Chaguanas West and I can vouch for Mr. Warner’s credibility. He is without a doubt THE BEST representative this constituency and if I may go out on a limb and say this country has ever seen. Since his entry into politics and even before, Mr. Warner has been a much loved person and the view of us, the constituents of Chaguanas West is that he is even more so today.
I will be first in line at my polling station on the day of the by election, patiently waiting to cast my vote for Mr. Warner. My theory is if it isn’t broke, don’t try to fix it. He has served us well and perhaps other MP’s on BOTH sides of the political divide can take a page from his book.
It will be to the UNC’s detriment to not select him as their candidate of choice and I say this because I too am a UNC supporter. However, where Mr. Warner goes, I go too.
I have seen him take care of us like a father figure and he is the man to get the job done! If he contests the election independently and beats the Partnership’s candidate, it will only prove that the people have no faith in the PP but they do have faith in Mr. Warner.
The people of Chaguanas West will reject any representative who is not Mr. Jack Warner. So for the sake of the country and the UNC alike, Bring Back Jack!
