Prime Minister Kamla Persad-Bissessar said Friday she was "shocked" to learn of revelations regarding National Security Minister Jack Warner contained in a report presented Friday in Panama by the head of Concacaf’s Integrity Committee, Sir David Simmons.

The report detailed allegations of what Sir David called financial mismanagement by former Concacaf president Warner and ex-general secretary Chuck Blazer with respect to the management of Concacaf.

Persad-Bissessar made the comment in a telephone interview with CNC3 television. The Prime Minister was in Washington DC and is scheduled to return home on Saturday.

She told the TV station she would like to see the report before making any final judgment. "Natural justice demands that I see the report first,” she said.

However, she added: "Should these allegations be true, they tell a tale of a tragic scenario." She also said if the allegations are true, “I have action to take."

The Prime Minister left Trinidad on Sunday to speak in the debate: “The UN and Global Economic Governance” at the UN in New York.

She also delivered an address at the Americas-Africa Business Forum, which was organised by the Organisation of American States (OAS) in Washington, DC.
