Keith Rowley is going to court to defend himself in a lawsuit filed by against him by Snr Supt Surajdeen Persad. And his lawyer is former Attorney General Ramesh Lawrence Maharaj.
Persad served Rowley with pre-action protocol letters claiming damages for defamation in relation to statements Rowley made at a public meeting in Tunapuna last week Tuesday.
Rowley spoke about a letter relating to certain recommendations with respect to the SIA but did not name the author. Persad was named in media reports.
Persad accused Rowley of being “callous, reckless, irresponsible and malicious to expose in Tunapuna confidential national security information.”
Speaking in a meeting in Point Fortin, Rowley boasted that he would win the case.
