Public can get tickets to attend president's inauguration

The Office of the President has advised that tickets for the inauguration ceremony of President-elect Justice Anthony Thomas Aquinas Carmona next Monday are available on a "first come, first served" basis.

Anyone who wishes to attend the event at the Hasely Crawford Stadium can pick up a ticket at a city, borough or regional corporation. 

The ceremony is scheduled to begin at 5 p.m. but guests must be seated by a quarter past four. The office of the president is handling all the arrangements for the event.

Carmona is replacing President George Maxwell Richards, who served this country for two consecutive terms. His term ends on Sunday.

An electoral college of Parliament elected Carmona on February 15. He was the only candidate for the post.
