First family at Saturday's church service |
It was inspiring to have the opportunity to look on and listen to the words he had to share with us that Sunday. He made some excellent points on the importance of family values and spirituality in today’s world where we see such things diminishing with the blink of an eye. His address was definitely one to be heard, especially by the younger generation. I was glad that my boys attended church with me.
Mr Carmona continues to be a shining example for all citizens of this country and I am more than elated to see him as our President in a couple of weeks. I believe that with his modesty and values he can inspire us to be the best we can be and uplift this nation.
Being a Catholic, like the rest of worshippers who attended mass on Sunday, we were immensely privileged to be in the presence of Mr Carmona and his family and to listen to his address, however I regret one thing. I regret that it was the only faith to be fortunate to be witness of his discourse but given the fact that it was a Catholic church I guess there wasn’t much of an option.
I would like to suggest to our President elect that on his assumption of office it would be admirable if an Interfaith service was held where citizens and spiritual leaders hailing from the various faiths that exist in Trinidad and Tobago could congregate and shower their own respective blessings. I think this would be a great opportunity for our succeeding President to share similar sentiments to the wider nation. In doing so it would really contribute to his distinct reputation as a person representative of all the people.
I look forward to such and I motivate our President elect to continue to lead in this exemplary manner.
