Letter: Rowley's sour grapes

I read that Dr. Rowley refuses to be censored, the reason why he failed to contribute on Friday at the election of our new President.

Talk about sour grapes.

I am sure he is aware that Section 4 of the Constitution states that the speech would only be allowed if the Speaker approves of it and the reason behind the Speaker vetting the speeches is expressed in Section 5 which states that “The Speaker shall reject any speech in his opinion impugns the character of any candidate.”

I think that is quite fair and understandable. I guess Dr Rowley was upset that he would not have been allowed the opportunity as in Parliament to politically scandalize the ceremony.

He should have just refrained from commenting and at least congratulate our new President. He didn’t seem to object in the past so I don’t understand why he is behaving like a spoilt brat. Come on Doctor, cheer up !
