Rajendra Dubay's daily inspirational thoughts - Life is Sports

My father once told me that even the tyre competes with the road to see who will wear down first; competition exists everywhere.

A student competes with other students to see who will place first.
In work you compete for promotion; in romance you compete for a lover and as a parent you compete with your spouse for your child's attention and love.

Competition is good; it is healthy, provided you approach it with the right spirit.

Realise that your competitor is not your enemy, but he/she is simply the competition.

Remember too, it's not whether you win or lose, it's how you play the game, what you become as a result of competing.

Play fairly, but remember all's fair in love and war.

It's good to win, but winning is not all; failure can be a great teacher.

Play to win, but be graceful in defeat; learn from defeat.

Ultimately there is spiritual competition. The stakes are high. You could be risking your soul. Pray daily, give charity, stand tall and guard your soul well.

The battle for your immortal soul is one battle that you don't want to lose.
