Photo story: SANJAY is first baby for 2013

The first baby born in Trinidad & Tobago in the new year was a boy, the first child for Ashti and Jerome Nandlal, the Express newspaper reported Wednesday.

The paper said the newborn weighed in an 2.43 kgs. The parents, who are from Clarke Road, Penal, named their son Sanjay.

Sanjay was not supposed to arrive for at least another three weeks. But the paper quoted the new mom as saying that it was quite a suprise when she realised that the baby was on the way.

The family rushed her to the San Fernando General Hospital where she gave birth at thirty-seven minutes into the new year.
